  • How to Clean Your Beard

Beards have quickly become one of the most popular trends for men. More men than ever are rocking every type of stylish, creative beard imaginable; needless to say the beard trend is in full-force. With this recent trend, beard grooming and beard cleansing have become increasingly important.

Beard or no beard, Clarisonic developed a cleansing solution specifically engineered for men’s skin. The Alpha Fit Cleansing Device has two settings to suit your facial hair preference. The first setting cleans and preps the skin for a closer, smoother shave for men who prefer to be clean shaven. The invigorating brush head cleanses away sweat, dirt and oil for smooth skin and a clean shave. For the best results, pair these products with our men’s cleanser to help clean, energize and exfoliate your skin.

With our recent launch of the Alpha Fit, we thought who better to give us their feedback on this product than the beard experts themselves. Beardbrand, the original bearded lifestyle channel, provides beard grooming tips, bearded lifestyle content and honest opinions on beard care products in an attempt to “provide the tools necessary for men to feel confident about growing their beard, and … to end the negative stereotypes about beardsmen being lazy or unkempt.”

Beardbrand founder, Eric Bandholz, knows first-hand how difficult it can be to keep your face clean when you have a large beard. Getting to the skin beneath your beard in not an easy task and the lack of cleansing can cause increased production of oil, acne, in-grown hairs, dry skin, etc. Eric explains and demonstrates how using the Alpha Fit Device helps to keep his face clean and blemish free, beard and all.

  • Will the Clarisonic help to get a closer shave and prevent ingrown hairs?

Men have been shaving for hundreds of years and are still looking for ways to get a closer shave. Dr. Robb discusses whether men get a closer shave by prepping with the Clarisonic in this video.

Dr. Robb says, an ingrown hair is a medical condition and Clarisonic does not make any claims to cure or treat medical conditions. Ingrown hairs have a great name, Pseudofolliculitis barbae. What this means is men with Mediterranean and African decent with curly hairs and they grow back or get caught underneath. The Clarisonic is great because it helps to lift hairs off the surface of the skin, and that is why you will get a better shave. We actually did a study with 55 men that said they got a closer shave they felt; because the Clarisonic helped prep the skin before they shaved.

  • The Manly Way of Cleansing

We all know that traditionally men spend less time dedicated to skin care than women, that doesn’t make the need any less important.

The first and single most important step is cleansing. It should be the basis of your skin care regimen and the one step that isn’t skipped. Men typically have larger pores than women and very active sebaceous glands. This means greasier skin that can lead to clogged pores – which in turn can lead to breakouts. Cleansing that removes dead skin cells and opens up pores is the best way to combat oily skin and prevent breakouts. The removal of dead skin on your face also aids in shaving. Not only does unclogging pores keep you free of ingrown hairs, but you will also be able to achieve a closer shave.

A great way to achieve clean clear skin and a closer shave in one step is to use the Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing System. The Clarisonic uses sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to gently, yet thoroughly remove 2x more dirt and oil than cleansing with your hands alone.

Take a look at some of the posts from male bloggers that have used the Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing system and start your journey to cleaner, smoother more kissable skin today.
