Clarisonic is safe for everyday use, but can it be used along with Retin-A or another chemical exfoliant? Dr. Robb gives us the answer in today’s video!
Dr. Robb says it depends on your skin type, some people can, and some people can’t. Remember those are chemical exfoliates removing the outer layers of the skin to give you the new healthier skin that lies below. Just listen to your skin as you are using it. The Clarisonic is perfectly safe to use every day, but when you use topicals that are using a chemical exfoliate for your skin; your skin may say, “Hold off for a while” but normally, every day is fine.
Have you ever used a chemical exfoliant like Retin-A along with the Clarisonic? Tell us below!
Dr. Robb answers Karen from Facebook’s question about using the Clarisonic with a prescribed skincare routine such as Accutane. Find out what Dr. Robb suggests in the video below!
Dr. Robb says that it’s up to your skin care provider to tell you if it is safe to use your Clarisonic if you are using Accutane. But we do know there are a lot of people who are on Accutane and they can use the Clarisonic on a daily basis. We designed the Clarisonic to be gentle and effective even for people who have rosacea and acne rosacea ; but check with your skin care provider.

First things first, Dr. Robb explains Keratosis pilaris and then answers Tamica’s question about using the body brush to help with this skin condition. If you have ever wondered if the Clarisonic is suitable to use with skin conditions, watch the video to find out!
Dr. Robb says this is commonly known as K.P. or chicken skin because it looks like a plucked chicken. People with K.P. usually get bumps on the back of the arms or the sides of the legs. The Clarisonic is great for smoothing those out, exfoliating the skin, keeping your skin soft and smooth, and then you can apply your moisturizer. Sometimes you can go to the doctors for this condition and they have certain types of acids in those moisturizers to help soften that area and keep it soft and smooth. The Clarisonic body brush is the first step to that.

Dr. Robb answers a question from Clarisonic fan, Gwen, regarding daily use of the Clarisonic. Some people wonder if the Clarisonic can or should be used daily. Watch the below video featuring our very own Dr. Robb to find out!
Dr. Robb says we designed the Clarisonic to be used twice a day. We know that it is safe and gentle for that. There are some people that only like to use it in the morning or the evening; it’s really up to you. But daily use is fine. Remember, Clarisonic is Sonic Technology for cleansing your skin; this is not microdermabrasion so you can do it every day if you like to.

Dr. Robb answers Rock Newton’s question about Clarisonic results with sun damaged skin and how much pressure should be used when using the Clarisonic. If you have ever wondered if the Clarisonic helps with sun damaged skin and how much pressure you should use when using the Clarisonic, watch the below video featuring our very own Dr. Robb.
Dr. Robb says: Use sunscreen everyday even if it’s a cloudy day. The Clarisonic is good for smoothing the skin and softening the skin. It allows the other products to go on better, so if you want to use some of the hyperpigmentation products that have acids that’s great. But for getting your skin soft and smooth there is nothing better than the Clarisonic.
People think it is about scrubbing. What you should do is let the Clarisonic ride on the top of your skin, don’t scrub because if you push too hard, the bristles stop working. We actually built that safety mechanism in.

Spinning, oscillation, and sonic can get confusing when speaking to the technology behind the Clarisonic. Dr. Robb is here to clear up any confusion about how the Clarisonic works at a rate of over 300 movements per second in the video below.
Dr. Robb says, actually it’s not spinning. That’s the old fashioned rotary technology. The Clarisonic oscillates and moves your skin back and forth very short distances to deeply cleanse your skin. But to get to your true question of how is it going so fast? It’s Sonic Magic and what that means is, the engineers have designed a magnetic motor that allows the magnets to change back and forth, and it moves at a rate of over 300 times a second.

Clarisonic fan, Barbara, asks Dr. Robb if the Clarisonic is safe on sensitive skin because she avoids facials that cause her redness and irritation. This is a common concern among users and Dr. Robb is here to clear up any confusion and worries associated with Clarisonic and sensitive skin.
Dr. Robb says, if you are under the care of a doctor always check with them, they know what’s best for you. We know that doctors throughout the United States and spas sell the Clarisonic to their patients that have Rosacea, a very sensitive condition. It is very safe and gentle for all skin types. You can start with every other day use, but honestly, we designed it to be safe and gentle.

With 42 national and international patents, the Clarisonic is one of a kind. Clarisonic fan, Pia Ianna, asks Dr. Robb what the inspiration is behind the Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing System and he is here to answer!
Dr. Robb says, WE looked at congested pores and tried to find a way we could move and wiggle them in a certain way using Sonic Technology to deeply cleanse them. One of our founders wondered if the make-up of that plug had different physical properties than the surrounding skin, and is there some way to move the skin to loosen that so you have super clean skin. I think we’ve done it with the Clarisonic! The inspiration behind the Clarisonic is the sonic technology (from the Sonicare Toothbrush) that allows for a deeper cleanse than your hands alone.
