Luckily, with longer days and warmer weather, getting back into the swing of exercise may be easier than you think. Just because you are committed to an exercise program does not mean that you can’t have fun while you do it!

There are lots of great ways to get moving and keep motivated this time of year, and here are just a few creative outdoor activities to help you take advantage of the warming spring weather:

Saunter down a trail – The best way to get exercise this spring and enjoy everything in bloom is to go on a hike. Find a new park or trail in the area where you can get some peace of mind while getting your body in tip top shape.

Get on the court – Challenge friends or family to a game of tennis or basketball; both are great sports to play outside on those warm spring days! You’ll have fun spending time out in some sun and getting a cardio workout at the same time.

Explore your surroundings – What better way to get to know your neighborhood or explore a new place than on foot? Grab a friend and set out to reach a new destination while catching up on the latest news and events. Improving your circulation through regular walking can improve immune function, as well as your metabolism and health in general.

Bicycling – Taking a bike ride is another excellent way to get some exercise while having a great time! Make a date out of it and bring some snacks for a picnic in the park to enjoy once you’ve reached your destination.

Make a splash – Just because the water is not warm enough for swimming, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy other water sports. Give paddle boarding or kayaking a try this spring – both give you a great workout whether you enjoy a leisurely trip across a lake or an adrenaline pumping whitewater adventure.

Just be sure to layer on some sunscreen, keep hydrated throughout your escapades, and cleanse your skin afterwards to eliminate all impurities you’ve accumulated on your skin during these adventures.

What activities are you looking forward to this season?

Exfoliation is a great step toward achieving beautiful and radiant skin. It speeds up the cell turnover process, giving you a fresh and radiant glow, and a smoother and younger appearance. But should you use an exfoliation product with your Clarisonic Sonic Skin Cleansing System?

Clarisonic systems provide a deep level of cleansing that is more effective than manual face washing and gentle enough to use twice a day. While a side effect of deep cleansing is mild exfoliation, Clarisonic is gentle and can be used in conjunction with exfoliation treatments.

Dr. Robb provides more details in the video below, part of our Ask Dr. Robb video series:

For gentle exfoliation, Dr. Robb recommends using facial scrubs with round spheres with your Clarisonic Sonic Skin Cleansing System. Scrubs with odd-shaped particles, like pointed pieces of shells, sand or grit, can be too rough on your skin. Dr. Robb uses an exfoliating scrub with his Clarisonic once a week, then cleanses all other days using a regular face wash.

Your skin should feel soft and smooth after cleansing, not tight, dry, or itchy. Please test new products carefully to avoid over-stressing your skin.

Let us know if you have any questions about a particular exfoliator to use with your Clarisonic Sonic Skin Cleansing System. We are standing by to answer your questions on Facebook and Twitter.

We all know that traditionally men spend less time dedicated to skin care than women, that doesn’t make the need any less important.

The first and single most important step is cleansing. It should be the basis of your skin care regimen and the one step that isn’t skipped. Men typically have larger pores than women and very active sebaceous glands. This means greasier skin that can lead to clogged pores – which in turn can lead to breakouts. Cleansing that removes dead skin cells and opens up pores is the best way to combat oily skin and prevent breakouts. The removal of dead skin on your face also aids in shaving. Not only does unclogging pores keep you free of ingrown hairs, but you will also be able to achieve a closer shave.

A great way to achieve clean clear skin and a closer shave in one step is to use the Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing System. The Clarisonic uses sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to gently, yet thoroughly remove 2x more dirt and oil than cleansing with your hands alone.

Take a look at some of the posts from male bloggers that have used the Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing system and start your journey to cleaner, smoother more kissable skin today.

Ask Dr. Robb: Explain the difference between brush heads.

Dr. Robb is displaying a Clarisonic PRO with a Sensitive Brush Head. All Clarisonic handles come with a Sensitive Brush Head attached. The Sensitive Brush Head is the middle of the road brush head. The Clarisonic was designed with different brush heads because everybody’s skin is different, and throughout the year your skin changes based on the seasons. Sometimes you may want to use the Sensitive Brush Head, other times you want to switch over and try the Normal Brush Head. Guys love the Normal Brush head – it has the gray base. The Normal Brush Head is great for applying shaving cream and then shave afterward and have an incredible smooth shave. The other brush head that we have for a different skin type is the Delicate Brush Head it has a blue base. The Delicate Brush Head was actually launched in Japan to start with, because the Japanese have very sensitive skin. But now it is so popular, it is sold throughout the world. For those who have super delicate skin.

We changed our focus on Brush Heads, we went from different skin types (Sensitive, Normal and Delicate) to different skin conditions. This is one of them, see the blue ring of bristles? It is called, the Deep Pore Cleansing Brush Head. It is great for those people who have oily skin and those congested pores around their nose that are hard to reach, and on the tops of the cheeks. This has a different movement than our other brush heads, the bristles in the center move one direction, while the outside bristles move the other direction. This allows you to get focused cleansing in very concentrated areas right around the pores. Then we’ve gone to the Acne Brush Head it’s a great product if you have acne conditions because it creates more foam, and bubbles. When you use the Acne Brush Head you will see more lathering, this is because there are more bristles per tuft. Finally the last brush head is the big one called the Body Brush. If you have a PRO handle it knows it is a Body Brush and changes the speed and timer moves a little more vigorous. Great for the elbows, knees, back area and moves at different frequency than all the other facial brushes.

We love taking vacations but we can’t risk taking a vacation from our skincare. We often recommend the Clarisonic Mia for traveling because of its compact size, but many fans also take their full size systems on-the-go as well. Depending on where you are traveling to, you might wonder, will my Clarisonic work?

The Clarisonic Mia, PLUS and PRO all have a universal charger or charging cradle. The universal charger is compatible with international and domestic outlets (100-240 Volts AC; 50/60Hz), with the respective country plug adapter. Therefore, these Clarisonic systems are capable of working worldwide.

If the shape of the plug does not fit the outlet, use an attachment plug adapter of the proper configuration for the power outlet. Most travel stores sell these common county-specific adapters.

Remember, when fully charged, the Clarisonic Mia lasts for 20, 1-minute uses and the PLUS and PRO last for 30, 1-minute uses (20, 1-minute uses with the body brush attachment). If your vacation is only a week long, you may not even need to bring your charger or charging cradle.

Now the only other issue is how to fit your skincare products into those tiny bottles. Good luck and happy travels!

We often receive inquiries from Clarisonic users regarding the different brush head options for the Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing System. With all the fabulous options to choose from it can be tricky deciding which one is right for you! Here are some common questions and answers to give you better insight on choosing a brush head.

What brush head came with my Clarisonic?

Clarisonic Mia Sonic Cleansing System: Sensitive Brush Head.

o	Limited Edition Hope Mia comes with a Sensitive Pink Brush Head.

Clarisonic Classic Sonic Cleansing System: Sensitive Brush Head.

o	The Graphite Gray model comes with a Normal Brush Head.

Clarisonic PLUS Sonic Cleansing System: Sensitive Brush Head.

Clarisonic PRO Sonic Cleansing System: Sensitive Brush Head.

o	The Graphite Gray model comes with a Normal Brush Head.

What are the different types of brush heads?

The available brush heads are: Delicate, Sensitive, and Normal. These are compatible on all of our units. The Body Brush is available for the PLUS and PRO models only.

Why is the sensitive brush head standard?

We have found this to be our most popular brush head. Therefore, this brush head is included with every new Clarisonic.

Which brush head is best for my skin?

Everyone’s skin is different and we suggest you listen to your skin when selecting a brush head. If you want a deeper cleanse, the normal brush head is slightly stiffer. If you are experiencing dry patches or irritation, you might want to try the sensitive or delicate brush head. The delicate brush head is also designed for extra sensitive skin or for those suffering from complicated skin conditions.

Can I use the body brush on the Clarisonic Mia Sonic Cleansing System?

No. The Body Brush is only compatible with the PLUS and PRO models.

Does each model require a different type of brush head?

No. All facial brush heads work on any model (The Body Brush is only compatible with the PLUS and PRO models).

Does the brush head spin?

No. The brush head oscillates (back and forth motion) to provide a more gentle cleansing experience.

Can I share a brush head with another person?

We strongly recommend using separate brush heads because your skins differ in condition and we want you to achieve optimal results.

Do I need to clean my brush head?

Yes. While you may believe you are cleaning your brush head every time you cleanse, we suggest cleaning the brush head once a week using an antibacterial cleanser. For a more detailed tutorial on brush head cleaning, please read our previous Sonic Chatter Post: How Do I Clean My Brush Head?

Hopefully we answered some of the common brush head questions. If not, please feel free to ask us in the comments!
