I have had melanoma along with a family history of melanoma and other skin cancers, so my dermatologist and internist are both concerned that I use extra protection in the sun. Recently, my Vitamin D level was low from not going in the sun. My internist had me take D-3 supplements 1000 mg 2X per day, which are working great for me. I just had my Vitamin D level tested again, and it's within normal range now.
